Providence Police Seek Man Suspected of Killing Woman

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Windfall police are searching for a 35-year-old man suspected of killing his girlfriend earlier this week.

Bernadette Ortiz, 50, was discovered with a gunshot wound in a second-floor bed room of a metropolis house at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, police mentioned in an announcement.

Investigators instructed WPRI-TV that suppose Derek Sheppard shot Ortiz following an argument inside their condominium.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Sheppard on homicide and weapons fees, police mentioned. He’s believed to be driving a grey 2019 Nissan Sentra. He must be thought-about armed and harmful, police mentioned.

Ortiz’s loss of life is the town’s second murder of the 12 months.
