PARIS (Reuters) -Police stated they stopped 500 autos that had been attempting to get into Paris on Saturday in a ‘freedom convoy’ protest in opposition to COVID-19 restrictions.
The autos had been intercepted at three entry factors into the French capital and greater than 150 tickets had been handed out, police stated on Twitter.
Police have mobilised hundreds of officers, arrange checkpoints and deployed armoured personnel carriers and water cannon vehicles in preparation for the protests.
Impressed by horn-blaring “Freedom Convoy” demonstrations in Canada, the motorists – from quite a few cities throughout France – had been looking for to defy a police order to not enter town.
