Police Shoot Suspect After Brief Standoff in Leavenworth

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after a police officer shot and critically wounded a stabbing suspect in Leavenworth.

The taking pictures occurred round 5 a.m. Sunday close to the intersection of Fifth and Seneca streets. Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens mentioned the Kansas Bureau of Investigation will assessment the taking pictures.

Kitchens mentioned officers had been searching for a suspect in a stabbing in Lansing on the time. Kitchens mentioned there was a short standoff between the officers and a 31-year-old man who had a handgun earlier than an officer shot the person.
