PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — An inmate on the Cumberland County Jail was discovered useless Saturday, based on the county sheriff’s workplace.
The inmate was discovered unresponsive in a jail cell by a corrections officer making common rounds, the sheriff’s workplace stated. The officer referred to as for assist and was joined by medical workers however they had been unable to revive the inmate.
The individual’s identify was not instantly launched. The loss of life is being investigated by Portland police and the Maine Division of Corrections.
Sheriff Kevin Joyce informed WMTW-TV that the inmate had been booked into the jail on June 1.
